林錦賢小學時因為國語講不好而被欺負，長大後自學成為台語教師，並研究起地方文史。兼課教師的宿命是流浪，他所擅長的地方文史採集也逐漸無用武之地，那些和老人們歡唱相褒歌的日子都走遠了。驀然回首，林錦賢才發現自己就像流浪狗一樣，不知道未來在那裡。

Taunted in primary school for not being able to speak Mandarin, Lin grew up to become a teacher of the Taiwanese language and a scholar of regional cultural history. His fate of a substitute teacher is that of a drifter, and his in-depth research in cultural history no longer has practical application. Lin looks back on his life and realizes that he is like a stray dog with no future...
