遠古的人們曾在高地上發現名為「勇氣」的巨石，村中孩子若能將它舉起，便代表已成年了。1996年，外表像大猩猩內心卻溫柔的舉重國手阿富，帶領南橫「桃源部落」的三位布農族少女下山成立小女子舉重隊，女孩們均來自父母雙亡、單親、隔代教養的家庭。作為國內外舉重比賽的常勝軍，她們的成年試煉不是舉起巨石，而是如何面對人生的考驗。

A national weightlifter coach A-Fu founded a teenage weightlifting team with three aboriginal girls from Pasikau Tribe in Kaohsiung. These girls were either raised in an orphaned or single-parent home, or by their grandparents. Burdened with familial responsibility and personal goals, their challenge is not only to lift the heavy weight plates, but defy the odds in their arduous lives.
