根據《西遊記》三個章回改編，時空搬至當代中國。黑幫大佬龍王得知玉帝將派魏徵來斬殺他，央求企業老闆李世民幫忙，無奈功敗垂成。龍王不甘，夥同其他冤魂向閻王告狀，李世民病危垂死，鬼門關前走一遭，才知民不聊生，幸賴鬼界判官私改陽壽，才得以還陽⋯⋯。本片借古典名著偷渡大陸現況，以古諷今，凸顯對現實改善的仰望，形式與敘事均極具創意。

Taken from three chapters of Journey to the West, the film adapts the story of the short-term death of Emperor Li Shimin to the modern China with its rich officials and gangsters. Li is now a bureaucratic boss in a big city, where the crooked Dragon King’s attempt to change the weather has backfired and condemned him to death. Li tries to intervene but ultimately fails to save his life…
