男子巴布開車撞死人，一向對獨生子呵護備至的母親為息事寧人，使出渾身解數動用人脈，甚至砸錢收買警察。不料此舉引起長期活在母親佔有慾下的巴布反彈，終使他成為強烈母愛的受害者⋯⋯。羅馬尼亞新浪潮又一傑作，以寫實鏡頭層層逼進母子間的衝突與愛憎情結，更直探羅馬尼亞的腐敗現狀。片尾一場一鏡到底的戲，堪稱神來之筆。

A drama focusing on the relationship between a mother and her 32-year-old son. After the accidental killing of a boy in a car crash, the mother tries to prevent her son being charged for the death, and refuses to accept that her son is a grown-up man. The film cuts to the bare bone of maternal love, creating a film about the emotionally crippling effects of loss.
