少年西恩因涉嫌恐嚇騷擾被警察帶走。他內容灰暗的日記、傳給喜歡女孩的簡訊、手機裡的打獵影片，竟成為他啷噹入獄的犯罪證據！為重獲自由，他被迫在法庭上認罪，沒想到從此更像活在另一個沒有柵檻的大牢籠。本片囊獲無數新導演獎，殘酷刻劃網路謠言、同儕霸凌，以及道貌岸然的偏見，如何崩壞了一名少年的美麗未來。

Sean, a socially-isolated and bullied goth teenager befriends his classmate Deanna, but is falsely accused of plotting a school shooting after he makes a threat against Deanna's boyfriend in an online chat. Sean then gets arrested and faces a terrifying imprisonment in a youth detention facility. How will he overcome his dark image, and prove his innocence?
