泰寮邊界，湄公河畔，男女們在氣氛閒散的老飯店裡躲避雨季洪水，卻在吃人惡靈現身之後默默疊合前世今生。脫胎自未拍攝的昂貴計畫，又似是練習前奏，坎城影展金棕櫚獎得主阿比查邦這回以明亮的光線、流水呢喃般的吉他民歌顛覆過往形式，卻同樣保有萬物形體幻化流動、現實與虛構、邊界的記憶與政治等不變主題。過往似橋樑，今日是藩籬，湄公河在歷史中緩緩流動，看似靜止卻張狂蔓延。

Set beside the Mekong River in the north-east of Thailand, Apichatpong’s new reverie features reincarnated lovers and a pesky ghost which eats human and animal entrails. The young director uses dramatized reconstructions and fantasy to portray his mentally-ill mother. Shot at the time of the heavy flooding in Thailand, the film also weaves in layers of demolition, politics, and a drifting dream of the future.
